NACPPS OAU ORGANIZES IFE CROP PRODUCTION CONFERENCE ICDC 2.0

The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CROP PRODUCTION AND PROTECTION STUDENTS (NACPPS) which is the body of the ever-vibrant Department of Crop Production and Protection Faculty of Agriculture Obafemi Awolowo University Ile Ife Osun State today held a conference themed "BUILDING AGRICULTURE ON OUR STRENGTH" at Oladele Ajose Lecture Theatre Faculty of Agriculture.

The conference kicks off at exactly noon with an opening prayer alongside the Great Ife Anthem and a welcome address by Roheenat the president of the department.

The conference opt-in to another level where two guest speakers were called to the stage to address the audience especially students of the faculty of agriculture on building agriculture on our strengths, the students were well sentimental to some social page and pitched business in a speech addressed by Mr. Olaoluwa Awe a farmer and a horticulturist, in his speech he urged students to set up their agric business right from their school days if they want to win big.
Questions like "How do I start an agriculture and crop protection business when I had no land, how does marketing flow out in agric business, which kind of person can I employ as my marketer (degree based)? among others were raised by the audience while answers were instantly enormously supplied.



The last speaker Mr. Adetiloye Continental who was an ex-student of the Department of Food Science and Technology at Obafemi Awolowo University and now the CEO of AFGEAN, an awesome fresh, agricultural agitation, logistics, and cold chain company in Plateau emphasize setting up an agric business even as an undergraduate student after sharing his previous experience in OAU campus, how he started then till now that he has become a successful entrepreneur, he implores students not to look down on themselves and to never give up.

Lastly, the closing speech was delivered by Dr. Soyelu an academic activist, agriculturist, and agric lecturer at Obafemi Awolowo University centered his speech on Job Opportunities for Agric students, a few of which are lecturer(if interested) scientists, and especially Agric Business in which he claimed agriculture to be the most lucrative job in the world, "don't look down on Agric Business, many a rich man across Nigeria made it through agric business, people like Niji, Abdul-salami Abubakar and an ex-president of Nigeria Chief Olusegun Obasanjo made a huge amount of money via agric business,  you're not exempted from making it too "GO FOR THE MONEY".

The whole event was put to a close at 3:45 pm.
