Awo Boys  As a student of the prestigious  Great ife , your stay is incomplete if the name, ' Awo Boys ' didn't cross your ears. These boys, a group of students from the male hostel 'Awolowo' are acclaimed to be a force in the school.     It is not surprising though for if it is said, every university has a set of individuals whose clips can't be clipped, why would the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University be exempt?  I sense a misconstrued phrase somewhere but who am I to claim a master of English?    Down to business however, these sets of individuals I would like to bring to light had flaws like the rest of us and may have reduced their activities but they also instilled in us, a sense of comradeship platform in which our voices can be heard.  Awo boys have the spirit of Aluta embedded in them and were raised to uphold a culture, and like wild dogs, they fought with methods they deemed right for a cause they believed worthy. ...

OAU student's union director of social, Adegboye Olamilekan popularly known as OMO ALHAJI  was arrested on Monday 30th January 2023 by the Department of States Security Services (DSS) after being suspected of belonging to an illegal and unregistered association capable of undermining the peace and tranquility of the Obafemi Awolowo University campus. Before his arrest, three other suspected students identified as Agbeja Ibukun, Ayinde Tosin, and Nurudeen Bayo of the department of Demography and Social Statistics, Biochemistry and Demography and Social Statistics respectively have also been reported to be arrested over similar allegations. The arrest however took place between the 12th and 20th of January 2023. Reporters from Great Ife Network were able to gather some information and it was confirmed that the suspects are being detained in the custody of the Department of State Security Services (DSS). The Federation of Ijesha Students' Union, OAU chapter has declared that its treasurer, Comrade Agbeja Ibukun Popularly known as Fisher is missing. According to a viral statement,  Agbeja Ibukun was called to the OAU Investigating Unit two weeks ago but has not been making any appearance since then. Another student, Adebayo Nurudeen, was also invited to the Investigation Unit by the OAU security officers. Students raised concerns about the situation and were forced to continuously raise alarm for security.  While answering the allegations raised by the Security Department, the Chief Security Officer, Mr. Oyatokun debunked the rumors that the students were kidnapped, but were rather arrested by the Investigation Unit of the Security Department of the University.
